There are no discriminators — just pick a unique username and people find you by it.\n\n## Adding friends\n\n- Search: enter their @username or user ID in Friends > Add\n- Share codes: a friend generates a 6-digit code, you redeem it, and you are instantly friends\n- Nearby: opt in to discover people on the same local network\n\n> Friend requests are rate-limited to 10 per 5 minutes to stop spam.\n\n## Requests\n\nIncoming requests land in the Pending tab. Accept with the checkmark, decline with the X — the sender is not notified either way. If you each send the other a request, it auto-accepts.\n\n## Removing friends\n\nRemove someone from the Friends page. You are each taken off the other list, you can no longer message each other, and they are not notified.\n\n## Blocking\n\nBlock from the chat header menu or the Blocked tab. Blocked users cannot message you, send requests, or see your status. They are not notified. Only you and the recipient can read them in normal operation — the server only ever sees ciphertext and metadata.\n\n## How it works\n\n1. Your device generates a keypair when your account is set up\n2. A copy of your private key is backed up to the server so a new device can pick up where you left off — the server copy is envelope-encrypted, so a database leak alone does not expose it\n3. You type a message; your device encrypts it for the recipient\n4. The encrypted message is sent through the server\n5. The recipient device decrypts it with their private key\n\n## What this means\n\n- Nobody can passively read your messages — not us, not anyone with only database access\n- Group messages are encrypted for every member\n- If you lose your keys, old messages may become unreadable\n- Resetting your keys makes old messages unreadable but new ones work fine\n\n> Why the server holds keys: Canada's Bill C-22 (Lawful Access Act, 2026 — passed the House in June 2026, now before the Senate) would require electronic service providers to be able to facilitate court-authorized access to information. DogeGage would rather be upfront about this architecture now than be forced to quietly break its own encryption later. Day to day, nobody reads your messages, and a database-only breach cannot expose them — but if a court orders it and the law requires it, the capability exists. That is the tradeoff, stated plainly.\n\n## What is NOT encrypted\n\nOfficial DogeGage announcements are public by design and carry a verified badge. The service\n\nDogeGage Chat is a real-time, end-to-end encrypted messaging platform run by DogeGage, available on the web and Android, including messaging, groups (Bundles), voice calls, stamps, attachments, polls, streaks, and future features.\n\n## 2. Eligibility\n\n- You must be at least 13 years old\n- You must sign in with a valid DogeGage account\n- You are responsible for everything that happens on your account\n\n## 3. Acceptable use\n\nYou may not harass, threaten, dox, or stalk people; send illegal, pornographic, or non-consensual content; spam, phish, or spread malware; impersonate users or staff; bypass rate limits or access other users data; or use extra accounts to dodge bans. We may remove content and suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, without prior notice.\n\n## 4.
